New Product Showcase Demonstrates Industry Strength

This year's expo featured the latest product launches from well-known brands including ATMOS, Crest, Garmin, IST, LEFEET, OceanMax, Problue, Scubajet, Shearwater, and TUSA, amplifying brand visibility and marketing reach while showcasing the hard-won strength of their research and development capabilities.

More Than 30 Dive-Themed Seminars

Over the three days of the expo, a lineup of professional speakers delivered an enriching seminar programme. Featured presenters included Taiwan freediving record holder Ku Yun-Chieh, director of Man and His Sea Black Sugar Huang Chia-Chun, Dr. Chen Hsing-Han (Director of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Division at Min-Sheng General Hospital), marine wildlife photographer Chen Wen-Hua, entertainer Liang Yun-Fei, men's division champion of Taiwan's inaugural freediving competition Coach Guang-Zhi, Chen Li-Shu (Director of Industry-Academia Exchange at the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology), Li Kun-Hsuan (Assistant Researcher in the Biology Division at the National Museum of Natural Science), Lin Dong-Liang (Executive Director of the Kuroshio Ocean Education Foundation), and underwater photographer Li Ming-Chung — among a total of 19 expert speakers who delivered more than 30 seminars over the three days. The final day's highlight was a live video session with freediving coach trainer Wayne and world freediving world champion Alexey Molchanov, which drew an enthusiastic crowd of freediving enthusiasts and brought DRT SHOW Taiwan 2022 to a thrilling finale.

In an effort to promote the beauty of Taiwan's underwater world and the development of underwater photography as an art form, the open-call submission event — a tradition since the very first DRT SHOW Taiwan — continues to be one of the most eagerly anticipated features for photography enthusiasts. This year, 60 photographers were selected from nearly 500 submissions, with their work displayed both online and on-site throughout the expo. A total of 11,895 votes were cast over the three days, and the Most Popular Award ultimately went to photographer Rossini for the work Excuse Me, whose charming and warmly humorous subject matter won over voters. The winner also received an ATMOS MISSION ONE dive computer, generously sponsored by ATMOS.

Taiwan's Largest Ocean-Themed Cultural Market

Since 2018, DRT SHOW has officially incorporated the ocean creative industry into the diving expo, making it the only diving exhibition in the world to establish a dedicated "Ocean Cultural Market" zone — fostering cultural exchange among creative artists from across the Asia-Pacific region. This year's DRT SHOW Taiwan brought together 33 renowned creative brands, making it the largest ocean-themed cultural market in the industry.

Ocean Guardian Challenge Activity

This year's DRT SHOW Taiwan invited the Chinese Cetacean Society, Taiwan Environmental Information Association, Taiwan Matsu Fish Conservation Union, Ocean Conservation Administration (Ocean Affairs Council), Hai Yong Studio, Sea Turtle Sea Turtle ShuoYi, Sea Turtle Roll Call, and the Kuroshio Ocean Education Foundation to co-design the "Ocean Guardian Bingo Challenge." Through fun, mission-based tasks, participants learned about the ocean and the importance and methods of marine conservation. More than 1,300 visitors completed the challenge and received thoughtful gifts prepared by the organizers.

Phygital Integration Drives Industry Growth

In addition to the in-person expo, DRT SHOW Taiwan also hosted a week-long online exhibition running from March 11 to 17, with participants from 7 countries — Taiwan, the United States, China, Egypt, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Seychelles. The virtual platform served as an ideal interactive hub for the diving and aquatic leisure industry, offering exhibitors opportunities for business matchmaking, brand exposure, and new market development, taking participating brands global.

The Diving Resort Travel Expo DRT SHOW was founded in 2009, with its roots in Hong Kong. It subsequently expanded to cities including Shanghai, Taipei, Beijing, Okinawa (Japan), Manila (Philippines), Singapore, Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Mumbai (India). Over more than a decade, the expo has hosted more than 40 diving exhibitions across the Asia-Pacific region, annually serving more than 1,000 exhibitors and attracting over 100,000 professional visitors and buyers. Even amid the global COVID-19 pandemic, DRT SHOW successfully organized four events in the past two years: the 2020 Malaysia International Diving Resort Travel Expo, the 2021 Shanghai International Diving Resort Travel Expo, the 2021 Taiwan Dive Show Online Edition, and the 2022 Taiwan International Diving Resort Travel Expo — all achieving outstanding results and injecting fresh energy and hope into a diving market that had long been held under the surface.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a BlueTrend dive trip different from a regular travel-agency dive tour?
We're a digital media company rooted in marine ecology. Every trip comes with top-tier dive-safety oversight, plus underwater-photography and marine-science insights shared by professional photo instructors or eco-guides. The precious wildlife shots you take can even be identified and logged as citizen-science records through our AI ocean-data platform — so your holiday isn't just sightseeing, it carries real meaning for ocean conservation!
Are there certification (C-card) level or logged-dive requirements to join a BlueTrend overseas dive trip?
Difficulty varies by site. 'Bali Tulamben', for example, suits AOW (OW divers, just ask us); while 'Maldives tiger shark diving' and 'Palau's high-current sites' strongly require AOW level and 50+ logged dives. If you're unsure whether your experience fits, contact us anytime and our instructors will give you a professional assessment.
Can I join as a solo diver? How is room arrangement handled?
Absolutely! Many of our travellers sign up solo and make like-minded dive buddies on the trip. For rooms, we prioritise pairing same-gender travellers; if you'd prefer a single room, you can upgrade by paying the difference.
Does the trip fee include dive insurance, gear rental, flights or instructor tips?
BlueTrend believes in transparent pricing. Our dive packages include professional underwater guiding, insurance on certain itineraries, and accommodation. Since every traveller’s departure point and gear needs differ, flights and gear rental are usually optional or self-arranged. For a detailed included/not-included list, check each trip’s itinerary or ask our LINE support.
