Late February 2018 — A casual dive log from Xiaoliuqiu
The weather has been gradually improving, temperatures rising, and by the end of the month the climate had almost fully shifted into a spring rhythm. Seas around the island were generally calm, and the influence of the northeast monsoon was steadily fading.
Remarkably, visibility at Shanfu reached nearly 30 m, along with a water temperature of 26 °C — something that hadn't been seen in the previous two winters.
Perhaps because spring was just around the corner, several species of nudibranch were especially easy to spot this season and relatively straightforward to observe. We even got to see the true face of the heart-shaped swan nudibranch (Cyerce sp. / fantasy nudibranch). Many thanks to the eagle-eyed Fox Lu for pointing out the swan.

Are there certification (C-card) level or logged-dive requirements to join a BlueTrend overseas dive trip?
Difficulty varies by site. 'Bali Tulamben', for example, suits AOW (OW divers, just ask us); while 'Maldives tiger shark diving' and 'Palau's high-current sites' strongly require AOW level and 50+ logged dives. If you're unsure whether your experience fits, contact us anytime and our instructors will give you a professional assessment.
Can I join as a solo diver? How is room arrangement handled?
Absolutely! Many of our travellers sign up solo and make like-minded dive buddies on the trip. For rooms, we prioritise pairing same-gender travellers; if you'd prefer a single room, you can upgrade by paying the difference.
Does the trip fee include dive insurance, gear rental, flights or instructor tips?
BlueTrend believes in transparent pricing. Our dive packages include professional underwater guiding, insurance on certain itineraries, and accommodation. Since every traveller’s departure point and gear needs differ, flights and gear rental are usually optional or self-arranged.
