In this episode, we once again invited Coach Lin Yu-Ping from 揪潛水同學會
to share with everyone a few key points to consider when choosing a Back Float BCD.
What Is a Back Float BCD?
Back Float BCDs can be broadly divided into recreational diving types and technical diving types.
While there's a huge variety of Back Float BCD styles on the market,
one consistent characteristic is that Back Float BCDs offer far more adjustability than jacket-style BCDs.
As a result, you'll need to become more familiar with your gear
in order to get the most comfortable diving experience possible.
In addition to flexible adjustments at the shoulder straps, crotch strap, and other points,
the backplate can also be customised to suit your needs, with options including:
soft backplates, aluminium alloy backplates, carbon fibre backplates, or stainless steel backplates.
Therefore, when choosing a Back Float BCD, it's recommended to visit a shop with a wide selection so you can try them on,
and it's especially important to check whether the shop offers fitting adjustment services and guidance!
