Haijian Highlights
- The Haijian, located at Chaojing Wanghai Bay, was formerly a research vessel operated by the Fisheries Research Institute
- Sunk in 2013 to serve as an artificial reef
- Maximum depth: 27m; bridge deck: 23m
- The site teems with fish — Japanese jack mackerel, fusiliers, yellowtail amberjack, and batfish are commonly spotted
- Visibility is generally poor year-round; it is recommended to bring at least two Flash Lights
- A descent line is rigged at the bridge — follow it when currents are strong to avoid missing the site
- Accessible by boat dive only — be sure to book with a licensed dive boat operator and instructor!
