- How to Purchase the Waterman Float Ball
In 2019, the first-generation Waterman float ball was born from a spark of collaboration between users and designers, resulting in a float ball that excelled in aesthetics, practicality, and versatility.
Over the two years since its launch, it has been warmly embraced by Taiwan's freediving community. In 2020, building on the foundation of the first-generation design, we developed the second-generation professional float ball, refining its details and materials.
Before introducing the third-generation Waterman float ball, let's take a moment to revisit what made the first-generation design so impressive.
-
Lightweight body, large-diameter one-way air inlet, and quick-release valve
-
A backpack design that doubles as both a gear bag and a float ball
-
Made with durable, abrasion-resistant materials and stitching
-
A mesh bag design so you never have to worry about gear spilling out
-
Beautiful aesthetics — it's both a piece of equipment and a lifestyle object
-
3-year warranty against non-accidental damage
7 Exciting New Features of the Waterman Float Ball
Waterman Float Ball Highlight 1 – Action Camera Mount
Action camera mount: With a quick-release buckle, your action camera can capture more complete footage of your surfacing and breathe-up moments.

Waterman Float Ball Highlight 2 – Internal Structural Webbing
Internal structural webbing: The newly added webbing reinforces the internal structure and prevents the inner bladder from popping out if you forget to close the lid. With the internal structural webbing in place, even without fastening the lid, you can store up to 40–60 m of line inside. When placing an underwater camera inside, you can also thread the clip through the webbing for an added layer of security.

Waterman Float Ball Highlight 3 – Stainless Steel Ring at the Inner Base
Stainless steel ring at the inner base: You can clip one end of the line to this ring to prevent accidentally letting the entire line go during deployment, and it also helps reduce tangled knots on the side.

Waterman Float Ball Highlight 4 – Side External Attachment Point
Side external attachment point: Compatible with D-rings and can also be used to thread through a snorkel.

Waterman Float Ball Highlight 5 – Deflation Valve Cover
Deflation valve cover: Over two years of sales experience, we received a couple of isolated reports of users accidentally triggering the deflation valve or the valve cover flying off. Please note: do NOT twist open the deflation valve! The correct way to use the deflation valve is to pull the small cord on top — it is not meant to be twisted open!

The third-generation Waterman float ball features a newly added deflation valve cover that serves as a clever foolproof device. It also allows you to tuck the guide rope from the side neatly inside, reducing the risk of an anxious student accidentally pulling the guide rope upon surfacing.

Waterman Float Ball Highlight 6 – Auto-Deflation Tool
Auto-deflation tool: The third-generation Waterman float ball's mouthpiece clip now features a function that locks in an auto-deflation mode, allowing the float ball to deflate on its own while you pack up your gear.

Waterman Float Ball Highlight 7 – Outer Clip Ring for Attaching Fins
The outer clip ring can also be used to attach fins for no-fin training.

Those are the new highlights of the 2021 third-generation Waterman float ball. Of course, we have retained all the original strengths: beautiful aesthetics, gear bag functionality, a 3-year warranty against non-accidental damage, and a lightweight build.
