DRT SHOW Taiwan Virtual Dive Expo: June 18–24
The annual highlight for divers everywhere — the DRT SHOW Taiwan International Diving & Resort Tourism Exhibition (hereafter "DRT SHOW Taiwan") — will be held in virtual expo format from June 18 to 24. In addition to a dedicated Indonesia dive travel zone presented by the Indonesia Tourism Board, the online expo features seven exhibition areas covering dive equipment, dive courses, dive tourism, diving news, marine conservation, and an ocean culture market, bringing together nearly 100 brands. All visitors can interact directly with exhibitors, exchange ideas, and explore collaboration opportunities through the platform's online features.
The Ocean Stars Underwater Photo Gallery will also be on display throughout the virtual expo. Sixty photographers have been selected from nearly 500 submitted works, and all shortlisted entries will compete for the "Best Popularity Award" during the expo period. The photographer who receives the most votes from visitors will win a dive computer sponsored by ATMOS. Visitors who cast their votes will also be entered into a lucky draw for a chance to take home beautiful ocean-themed creative gifts. This edition of the Ocean Stars gallery showcases the underwater beauty of Taiwan and its unique marine life — not to be missed.
The pandemic has not only widened the social distance between people, but has also dramatically increased the generation of single-use waste. With this in mind, DRT SHOW hopes to use this expo to encourage more people to pay attention to these issues — and, while keeping personal health and safety as the priority, to still practise waste reduction, reuse, and proper sorting. Throughout the expo, DRT SHOW will promote the "PlasticFREE — We're Taking Action" initiative, using engaging activities to raise public awareness of environmental issues.
In addition, the ever-popular grand lucky draw — one of the most anticipated highlights of every DRT SHOW — will go ahead as planned. Simply visit the DRT SHOW Taiwan Virtual Expo between June 18 and 24 for a chance to win prizes including dive computers, masks, fins, and equipment bags.
This edition of the DRT SHOW Taiwan Virtual Expo marks the 40th dive show since DRT SHOW held its inaugural International Diving & Resort Tourism Exhibition in Hong Kong back in 2010. Presented in a brand-new format, DRT SHOW is also bringing entirely new surprises, with the goal of injecting fresh energy and renewed hope into a dive market that has long been lying low.
"We believe the market has not disappeared — it has simply been delayed. We have always been here, and we look forward to meeting everyone again soon, and to once again witnessing the new rise of Asia's dive market together," said DRT SHOW CEO Chang Hsu-Wu.
Since its successful inaugural edition in Hong Kong in 2010, DRT SHOW has gone on to be held in major Asian cities including Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou in China; Taipei, Taiwan; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Manila, Philippines; Okinawa, Japan; Singapore; and Mumbai, India. With more than 1,300 exhibitors served each year, it is Asia's largest dive show. This year's DRT SHOW Taiwan is the 40th edition of DRT SHOW and the first to be presented in a virtual format, offering innovative and zero-distance interaction that is expected to attract over 100,000 domestic and international visitors from around the world.
