The Taiwan Green Island International Underwater Photography Competition runs from September 30, 2017, to August 31, 2018. Through the participation of divers from Taiwan and abroad, the event aims to raise public awareness of the ocean, foster a love for the sea, and promote the right concepts of marine conservation — while boosting Green Island's international profile as a dive destination. Recognizing the rapid changes in marine ecosystems in recent years, the competition seeks to collect authentic imagery of Green Island's underwater environment. As underwater recreational activities grow increasingly popular, participants are encouraged to engage in safe and lawful underwater photography. All competition entries must be taken in the waters of Green Island, keeping the focus on the island's exceptional natural gifts and positioning underwater photography as a leading record-keeper of Green Island's marine world.
