Do you love browsing markets? BlueTrend heard that the "Meet the Waves" ocean creative market has been generating a ton of buzz in the ocean community lately — and it's right here in Keelung at 叁肆行. There's no way BlueTrend could miss this one.
For those who couldn't make it in person, check out the live-stream replay to relive the lively atmosphere from that day. Most importantly, make sure you watch all the way to the end — there's a giveaway! (Don't blame BlueTrend if you miss it because you stopped watching early.)
The moment BlueTrend arrived, there was no holding back the excitement — meowing all the way! Not only were there adorable marine life–shaped snacks to fill up on, but there were also so many ocean-themed design items. We're pretty sure ocean lovers will go just as crazy as BlueTrend did. Come along and explore the market with us!
Oh — almost forgot to mention: this was the first time the 潮嚮山海基隆 series market teamed up with EasyPay (悠遊付). A single transaction made with EasyPay earns a 10% discount (plus the EasyCard's ongoing 2% monthly bonus). Pretty great deal, right?

Food Finds at the Ocean Creative Market
You may have already noticed — BlueTrend is a total foodie. So the first stop at any market is always eating and drinking. The coolest thing about this market was all the marine life–shaped snacks on offer, which were as adorable as they were delicious. Worth mentioning: the "Meet the Waves" market provided eco-friendly lunchboxes and cups for rent, helping to reduce waste, and participating stalls also offered eco-friendly discounts.
Marine Life Egg Cakes by HaveFun雞蛋糕
These fragrant egg cakes were shaped like sea turtles, cuttlefish, pufferfish, and Grouper — loved by kids and adults (and chubby-cat BlueTrend) alike. Made with nothing but real ingredients and not a drop of water added, these completely won BlueTrend's heart. On top of that, an upcoming ocean-themed board game was on display at the stall — BlueTrend can't wait!

nudibranch Wagashi by 海邊大媽製菓所
Next up was a little wagashi shop. BlueTrend immediately picked out a Chromodoris nudibranch to devour — let me explain: it was a wagashi shaped like a Chromodoris nudibranch! Both the colors and the form were incredibly lifelike. The maker said that just one of these sculpted wagashi takes a full hour of handcraft to complete. No wonder they're so exquisite — BlueTrend is truly in awe.

Horseshoe Crab Chocolate by 歐勳洋行 Oceanartlab 創藝耍廢室
Chocolate shaped like horseshoe crabs is already pretty special — but they've also got a distinctly Kinmen-style kaoliang liquor flavor that almost made this cat tipsy. Even more impressive, a co-branded Palace Museum edition of these chocolates was released, and the proceeds from sales go toward horseshoe crab conservation. Eat chocolate, love the ocean! Beyond the chocolates, the stall also featured beautifully crafted air plant display floats shaped like various marine creatures — a must-have collectible for any ocean enthusiast.

Watch Your Wallet — the Ocean Creative Market Is Too Good to Resist!
Before stepping into the market, repeat after BlueTrend three times: "Ocean lovers shop mindfully." Because this place is so fun to browse and so easy to buy from, your wallet will surrender before you know it. Think BlueTrend is exaggerating? Come see for yourself!
Ocean-Friendly Bath & Body Products by Milletural
As a fish-loving cat, BlueTrend never imagined that fish scales could be used to get clean! Milletural's fish-scale collagen peptide bath and body line is truly remarkable. Owner Maggie explained that they extract ingredients suitable for shampoo and body wash from fish scales that would otherwise be discarded as waste — a perfect example of the circular economy that's also kinder to the environment. And here's a sneak peek: they're planning to launch packaging bottles made from 100% recycled plastic. BlueTrend says thank you on behalf of the planet.

Even discarded fish scales can become bath and body products — bringing ocean-friendly values into everyday life.
Sea Glass Handcrafts by JadeHandmade
Jade creates fully handmade accessories, each piece full of character. BlueTrend's favorite was the "sea glass" series. Jade explained that sea glass is a form of human-made marine debris — but by collecting it and crafting it into jewelry, you not only remove a piece of trash but also give the sea glass a whole new life.

Discarded sea glass transformed into works of art — refined and one-of-a-kind.
Marine Life Concrete Planters by Echo's海洋手作
The moment BlueTrend spotted the marine life–shaped concrete planters, several ended up in the shopping bag. They're perfect for planting cute succulents or sitting on a desk as a soothing little decoration. Fun fact: the concrete material also works great as a diffuser stone — just drop a few of your favorite essential oils on the bottom and enjoy a gentle, lingering fragrance throughout the day.

Whale Fall Bucket Hat by 有 fu 手作
Besides picking up some small accessories, BlueTrend also wanted to add some ocean flair to the wardrobe! A "whale fall" bucket hat at 有 fu 手作 immediately caught this cat's eye. The maker shared the inspiration behind the piece — conveying how a whale's death also brings new life and opportunity to other marine creatures, giving the hat a soulfulness all its own. The stall also featured many hairbands and fish-tail necklaces, which were equally popular among ocean lovers.

The Ocean Market Was a Huge Success! Next Up: Squid Season

Full team photo with all the staff — so many wonderful vendors to meet this time. Onward together!
Beyond the great stalls, the 潮嚮山海基隆 market experience wouldn't be complete without swimming among marine life. An AR experience app brought Whale Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, and other big creatures diving right into the party — keeping BlueTrend and plenty of fellow visitors snapping photos non-stop. And when the photo-taking and browsing got tiring, everyone could sit back and enjoy live music from a resident singer. This cat was absolutely in heaven.
This ocean market attracted approximately 16,000 visitors and generated around NT$370,000 in sales — ocean lovers really showed up in a big way!
Don't Miss the Upcoming Squid Season!

Squid Season is here! Now's the time for night fishing and a nighttime encounter with the squid.
This was apparently the final 潮嚮山海基隆 series market of the year — but luckily, BlueTrend spotted an upcoming event at the venue: "Squid Season," featuring night fishing experiences, nighttime squid encounters, and a Sea Fishing Academy you can sign up for! BlueTrend immediately registered for a night fishing session. Just imagining heading out on a boat during the peak squid season of summer, playing fisher for a day, and savoring freshly caught seafood right on board — can't wait!
