Asia's largest diving event — ADEX Ocean Festival Singapore 2025 — came to a successful close on April 6, with the three-day expo drawing diving enthusiasts from around the world. The Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, through its Singapore Representative Office, set up a "Taiwan Pavilion" at the expo, using underwater photography as a medium to showcase Taiwan's diverse diving scene and promote an all-new travel experience that combines dive travel with urban sightseeing.

Stunning Underwater Photography Showcases Taiwan's Rich Marine World

Straddling the tropical and subtropical zones, and shaped by the Kuroshio Current and the northeast monsoon, Taiwan's underwater ecosystems and seascapes reflect the same dual character as its land culture — blending the traits of both Southeast and Northeast Asia. To give visitors a deeper understanding of Taiwan's diving environment, the Tourism Administration held 13 dive-site sharing sessions and speaker exchanges at the Taiwan Pavilion, inviting renowned Taiwanese underwater photographers Yorko Summer and 京太郎, as well as technical diving operator Phil, to introduce diving destinations including the Northeast Coast, Green Island, Kenting, Xiaoliuqiu, and Penghu through breathtaking underwater imagery. Every Chinese- and English-language session was packed to capacity, and the lively Q&A interactions and enthusiastic inquiries from attendees underscored the tremendous potential of Taiwan's dive industry.

Dive Trips and City Trips — All in One, with Effortless Chinese Communication

Beyond its wealth of dive sites, Taiwan also boasts a convenient transportation network that makes it easy to connect dive destinations with urban sightseeing areas. In between dives, visitors can effortlessly arrange city excursions to experience local culture, cuisine, and natural scenery — achieving the ideal itinerary of a Dive Trip & City Trip all in one. In addition, Chinese being Taiwan's primary language means that Mandarin-speaking travelers face virtually no language barriers, making communication stress-free and further cementing Taiwan's advantage as a dive travel destination.

Creative Stamp-Rally Activity Draws Crowds to the Taiwan Pavilion

To enhance participation and interactive engagement, the Taiwan Pavilion introduced a special stamp-rally challenge featuring six themed stamps — depicting iconic Taiwan dive-site imagery and underwater stars including sea turtles, shipwrecks, artificial reefs, coral, tropical fish, and nudibranchs. The activity drew queues of eager visitors, and upon completing the full stamp collection, participants received a one-of-a-kind dive cool card along with a chance to take home a Taiwanese-brand dive computer or professional regulator set. From the very first day of the expo, hundreds of children and adults enthusiastically joined in, with participants from multiple countries flooding the Taiwan Pavilion's exhibition area and generating enormous buzz and visibility for Taiwan.

Taiwan: Asia's New Dive Travel Highlight, Full of Promise

Throughout the three-day expo, the Taiwan Pavilion consistently attracted visitors inquiring about dive itineraries and tourism information, demonstrating the high potential of Taiwan's dive travel sector. Taiwan offers not only rich marine resources, but also urban convenience and a language advantage. The fact that visitors on-site were asking about ocean cleanup diving, Xiaoliuqiu's "Liuqiu Cup" initiative, and coral restoration activities shows that Taiwan's efforts to promote sustainable tourism are already gaining visibility. Going forward, Taiwan will continue working toward establishing itself as Asia's premier dive travel destination and a model of sustainable tourism. The Tourism Administration's Singapore Representative Office will also deepen its promotional efforts, expanding the "Blue Ocean, New Business" opportunity and inviting more diving enthusiasts to come to Taiwan and dive into its beautiful seas!
