With the post-pandemic revival of sports tourism, the global diving market is booming, and Taiwan is actively seizing new opportunities in the dive economy. After a three-year hiatus, the Taiwan Tourism Administration is making a strong comeback at Asia's largest diving expo — ADEX OCEAN FESTIVAL SINGAPORE 2025 — showcasing Taiwan's unique marine charm to international diving enthusiasts. This year's exhibition highlights "Dive Tourism", leveraging Taiwan's advantages as an island nation with convenient transportation and a language-friendly environment, aiming to attract travelers from Singapore and Malaysia to explore Taiwan's underwater world.

Four Premier Dive Destinations, Each with Its Own Character

Situated at the intersection of tropical and subtropical climates, Taiwan boasts rich terrain and marine ecosystems. The Tourism Administration has partnered with four major National Scenic Areas to present Taiwan's four top dive destinations:

  • Northeast Coast and Yilan: Characterized by unique subsidence reef formations, ideal for macro photography enthusiasts. Guishan Island's underwater hot springs foster a rare and distinctive marine ecosystem.
  • Dapeng Bay and Xiaoliuqiu: South Taiwan's warm waters make year-round diving possible. Xiaoliuqiu is one of the few places in the world where sea turtles both nest and reside.
  • East Coast (Green Island): Influenced by the Kuroshio Current, this destination offers exceptional underwater visibility. Strong currents support a thriving coral and fish ecosystem, with shipwrecks and artificial reefs adding to the appeal.
  • Penghu: Comprising over 70 islands with strong currents, the Southern Four Islands are prime spots for encountering sailfish, sharks, and dolphins, and are also home to a unique underwater mailbox.

MIT Dive Brands Take the Stage, Boosting Taiwan's Dive Industry

To raise the profile of Taiwan's dive services on the world stage, the Tourism Administration has organized the "Taiwan MIT Connection", selecting 11 licensed dive operators from across Taiwan to exhibit, introducing quality local dive itineraries and equipment. On-site, visitors can take part in a stamp-rally challenge — complete designated tasks to earn limited-edition Taiwan dive souvenirs and enter the MIT Premium Dive Gear Lucky Draw.

International Photographers Share Taiwan's Underwater World

Throughout the expo, 13 dive seminars will be held, featuring internationally acclaimed Taiwanese underwater photographers Yorko Summer and Kyotaro, who will share their diving experiences in Taiwan through stunning imagery. Seminar topics cover Guishan Island's underwater volcanic terrain, Northeast Coast macro ecosystems, technical diving expeditions, and the coral biodiversity of Penghu and Kenting, highlighting the diverse appeal of Taiwan as a world-class dive destination. Key highlights will be made available online after the event, so diving enthusiasts around the globe can discover the beauty of Taiwan's underwater world.
