Atomic J-Seat Piston System

The core idea is to blunt the leading edge of the piston orifice and shape the retaining side of the high-pressure seat into a concave taper. This dramatically reduces the seat deformation caused by long-term use. A conventional flat high-pressure seat tends to develop an indentation over time that allows air to leak; the concave taper, by contrast, actually conforms more tightly as it wears — improving the seal rather than degrading it.

The O-ring on the piston stem is designed to be free-floating, minimising friction from relative movement.

Regulator — Second Stage Regulator

Seat Saving Dynamic Orifice — a wear-saving dynamic valve seat. When there is no pressure, the valve seat springs open so it is not in contact with the intermediate-pressure diaphragm, preventing the indentation and deformation that would otherwise result from prolonged compression.

AFC (AUTOMATIC FLOW CONTROL)

In normal conditions the AFC's baffle extends into the airflow path; air passing through the hollow centre of the baffle creates turbulence that slows the flow. As depth increases, the rising pressure inside the second stage regulator pushes the baffle outward, converting it into a flat deflector. The result is automatic, depth-dependent flow regulation — no diver intervention required.

DFC (DYNAMIC FLOW CONTROL)

A small chamber is created between the intermediate-pressure cavity and the diaphragm, and this chamber communicates with the intermediate-pressure orifice. When air exits the orifice it draws air out of this small chamber with it — the reduced volume means pressure drops faster — causing the diaphragm to deflect and open the demand valve more readily. The outcome is a more sensitive response and a smaller intermediate-pressure drop on inhalation.
